Narangba East Local Area Development

Narangba East Local Area Development

The Narangba East Local Area Development consisted of the design and construction of major sewer networking for +1,000 residential lots in an Emerging Community Zone. The +$6 million project involved the sewer servicing strategy and detailed delivery of two trunk sewer pump stations, 1.3 km rising main, and gravity infrastructure. The project was undertaken concurrently with detailed design and construction of a 476-lot subdivision. All external works were eligible for trunk offsets.

This project involved coordination and approvals from numerous stakeholders, both government and private. The alignment planning process for the 1.3 km rising main required careful consideration of Queensland Rail crossings, vegetation, services conflicts, multiple landowners and TMR input. The ultimate strategy required underboring under existing residential driveways, QR rail corridors, and TMR-controlled roads. As the lead engineers, RMA were responsible for gaining all approvals and managing communication between all parties.

RMA also delivered the detailed design, construction management and contract administration for the two sewer pump stations and gravity mains.
