RMA was engaged under a Design and Construct contract with Hutchinson Builders to deliver civil, structural and hydraulic engineering services. Our involvement started in the post-DA stage, where we found inconsistencies in the previous consultant’s drawings that meant many of Council’s civil requirements could not be fulfilled.
Due to the project’s tight time frames, we prioritised close collaboration with the builder early on to deliver numerous framing options. This allowed the builder to run several cost plan scenarios to find the most efficient solution. We coordinated with the architect and builder to integrate the requirements of each discipline for maximised savings. This was done to achieve project feasibility whilst not stepping outside the constraints of the DA and approved plans.
